SPRING INTERNSHIPS

All Out Arts, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to fighting discrimination through the arts, is currently accepting resumes for spring interns for its Annual Fresh Fruit Festival, a multi-disciplinary celebration of LGBTQ arts and artists.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:  The Fresh Fruit Festival seeks interns (graduate-level preferred) to work on in-depth special projects in four key areas:

Marketing/PR:  Maintaining website with proven skillsets; Creating email blasts, managing social media presence, basic graphic design as needed, writing copy and drafting general press notices, coordinating direct mail campaigns, facilitating audience surveys, audience development initiatives, and creating and implementing long term marketing plans.

Management:  Maintaining artist contracts, coordinating festival volunteers, drafting official correspondence, tracking industry trends, special projects as assigned, in charge of the master administrative calendar, and researching legal and copyright issues.

Development: Supporting all areas of Fresh Fruit Festival’s fundraising efforts, with a primary emphasis on individual giving and membership.  Additionally, intern will facilitate direct mail campaign, researching possible individual and institutional funders, organize and maintain development files, and facilitate special projects, as needed.

Artistic:  Assist the artistic staff with seeking festival submissions, organizing evaluations, and helping facilitate programming.  Additional duties include assisting with preparation and execution of supplemental programming, completing research as needed, covering readings and performances throughout the City, updating calendars and documents, keeping files and archives current, and other general administrative duties.

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL: The Fresh Fruit Festival is presented by All Out Arts to celebrate the LGBTQ community’s unique perspective, creativity & diversity, and to build links between the LGBTQ artistic communities, be they local or international.  The festival showcases the whole spectrum of LGBTQ lives as expressed in theatre, performance art, dance, film, spoken word, graphic arts, music & beyond. We often feature a “high stakes” poetry slam and Developmental readings for authors, plus two weeks of theater and performance art;  frequently dance, jazz, art exhibits, variety acts, and comedy shows grace our various stages as well.

DATES:  Internships usually begin in January and last through June (dates are flexible), with possible extension into the summer mainstage festival if desired.  We require a minimum two month commitment with very flexible hours, or a two week commitment is working the summer Festival.

COMPENSATION:  This is an unpaid internship, however All Out Arts can arrange college credit through your institution, if desired.
